Boycott USA products

Imagine if your country made you fear for the safety of you and your child/children. I mean, you legitimately think that staying in your country will end in serious harm or death for you, them, or both.

Now imagine that you decide to flee to a place who’s mantra is “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” You honestly believe (because this new land has promised it) that you and your children will be safe, and treated with respect.

800Then you get there. To this “land of the free”. And they tell you they’re taking your children to the washroom while you fill out some paperwork.

Then you NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN.

This is happening. Right now. In 2018. In a world power, often referenced as “the leader of the free world”.

The current sitting president is undoing hundreds of years of progress in human rights, democracy, and global goodwill earned by the United States.

As a Canadian, I choose to protest by joining the boycott of US products. Not just because of the ridiculous tariffs and whatnot (as that’s a completely different example of the President’s stupidity), but because human beings are being treated like animals by a nation that purports to be the saviour of the earth. This behaviour should not be rewarded.

Luckily, as a Canadian, there are a ton of options when I go to the supermarket or the department store that are Canadian made or imported from countries who are not currently committing what may actually turn out to be crimes against humanity.

00100sPORTRAIT_00100_BURST20180530165958500_COVERSo join me, please, in buying Canadian. Because if they took my daughter away from me and I was powerless to do anything about it, I’d hope someone else would step up to help me.

  1. Already doing it. Bypassed USA cherries and strawberries for the Ontario blueberries and Chilean grapes. No more shopping trips across the river either until the Orange clown is gone.
